Kickflip
Before learning this trick, you should be able to ollie up a curb everytime. If there is one thing that makes me angry, it would be little kids that are trying to kickflip when they can’t ollie, or even ride a skateboard.
You need to put your feet in the kickflip position. Kickflip position varies among skaters, so you may want to experiment. Your back foot should be on the tail exactly like an ollie. You should have your front foot right behind the front bolts, with your toes even with the toe edge of the board. Your heel should be pointing back ever so slightly.
Once you get your feet positioned, you want to bend down like you would for an ollie. You want to pop the tail exactly like an ollie. You want to slide your front foot up the grip tape exactly like an ollie. Your back foot should do the same thing for an ollie, except be raised to let the board flip. A kickflip is almost exactly like an ollie, except on thing: the flick.
As you slide your front foot up the grip tape, use your toes to flick out across the nose of the board. This should make it flip. You want to flick off at the place where the nose starts to turn up. You want to flick in front of you and behind you on the heel edge of the board. You do not want to flick down!
Once you get the flick down, all you have to do is stay over the board. Watch for the grip tape, then stomp it down and roll away.
This is a very difficult trick. This trick will take tons of practice to get good. Remember to pop like an ollie, slide like and ollie, and then flick it. Make sure you slide your front foot up for extra height.
