Skateboard Veneer
how to make a skateboard?
i know a skateboard deck is made using veneer and the glue and compression , etc but i don’t have access to something the can compress the make wen i glue it together so i was wondering if i could use a different approach to make the deck. for example i would use dimensional lumber instead of veneer and just carve the board out of its since it’s thick. but i was wondering if it would be possible by doing that as well as if the board would be sturdy or strong enough if i do, do it that way.
It would be possible to just carve it. In woodshop I made a form and some veneers and glued them to them together and just clamped it. Then I cut cleaned it up with a bandsaw and a sander. To compress the veneers all you need are clamps, you can get those at a hardware store.
