Skateboard Truck Kingpin Crooked?
My trucks were always more to one side than the other and it was completely unleveled. I took it apart and found that the kingpin was crooked on both of them. Also, 2 of my friends had the same set of trucks and they encountered the same problem. The trucks were litezpeed blank trucks that my local skateshop sold (doubt they sell em anywhere else) on blank completes.
Anyways, my question is do skateshops general carry a supply of kingpins? My other is what will they do if they find out all their trucks have defective kingpins?
Was the kingpin crooked as inserted wrong or bent? If it is a defect from the factory, the shop should help you out by either replacing the trucks or referring you to the manufacturer for replacement.
If it was crooked, it might be able to be inserted correctly, bent then it needs to be replaced. Riding with very tight tricks can bend and break kingpins.
Skate shops carry replacement kingpins. Even money that the baseplate cracks on kingpin replacement. I wouldn’t replace kingpins when I worked in a shop.
